The ever visible Lanin Volcano heads the gorgeous Malleo valley and as a marker for the Chile-Argentine border gives one a clear sense of just how far you have traveled.
El Grande is one of those rivers that fly fishing enthusiasts have surely jotted down in their travel logs and bucket lists. The story goes that John Goodall ‘planted’ trout eggs in these waters. Thanks to the benevolent nature of the southern sea, it soon emerged the best river in the world for brown sea trout fishing.
Due to the nutrient-rich habitat and the absence of predators, here the brown trouts can reach up to 16 kilos of weight. The fishing season begins in November and ends in mid-April.

La Villa at Estancia Maria Behety is the most luxurious fishing lodge of Rio Grande. It is located in the historical town where the main ranch house once was.
Totally rebuilt in the late nineties, La Villa has 6 bedrooms in suites with shower and Jacuzzi, a spacious dining room and a living room with a bar where to share the stories of the day’s catch.
For leisure, La Villa offers a snooker room, satellite TV, Internet connection and a card table. The guests can enjoy of an excellent and diverse menu, as well as a vast selection of 4,000 bottles of wine stored in the cellar.
EMB LODGE
The EMB Lodge is located 15 kilometers from the ranch town, over a plateau where you can contemplate the heart of Rio Grande.
Little Rio Fishao
Built to function exclusively as a fishing lodge, it is the place chosen by larger groups of fishermen who appreciate a permanent view to Rio Grande.

This house has 8 bedrooms in suites, a spacious dining room and a great living room with fire place and a bar. The menu and wine list, as in La Villa, are diverse, and there is a garden house with a big grill where a special meal is cooked for all the guests every week.
